When is the best time to book a Grenadines cruise? Thanks to its location under this hurricane belt, the Grenadines offer year-around cruising. Traditionally, the high season runs from December to April, with more favorable winds for sailing and dryer weather. May and November have increasingly become sought after months as guests can enjoy lower rates and good weather. The summer months (June to October) tend to be wetter and more humid with less wind, but they offer a good alternative for family with young children and groups trying to avoid the crowd of the high season.

What are the provisioning options like in Grenada?Whilst you may not find all you are used to in the USA or Europe, Grenada offers one of the best provisioning options in the Windward islands and certainly in the Grenadines area so do not hesitate to stock up before you depart the base for your cruise. Here are some of our go-to shops when we provision – Luckily, they are all located a short driving distance from our base, and you can also ask to most of them to deliver to the boat/marina on your departure day: Real Value IGA Supermarket: by far the best stocked supermarket in Grenada – I usually go there to avoid having to go around several shops: https://www.realvalueiga.com Pasta y Vino: for fresh pasta and Italian wines, Le Marquis complex, Grenada- https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100082944291652 Le Boucher: French butcher shop where you can find meat and homemade sausages as well as imported French cheeses, cold cuts and wines. Products can be vacuum packed, which is perfect for cruising: https://www.facebook.com/LeBoucherGrenada Meat and Meet: A gourmet butcher and catering shop, imports cold cuts and cheese from Canada and offer a variety of homemade meals. Famous for their tiramisus. https://www.meatandmeetmarket.com North-South Wines: probably the best stocked wine and spirits importers in Grenada, they are located near our base and also will take orders over the phone and deliver to the boat for your convenience: http://www.northsouthwines.com When provisioning, don’t forget that you will find fresh fruits and vegetables from small vendors along the way during your cruise. No need to take too many at once, especially since they ripe quickly onboard. You will also want to take some meals at restaurants along the way – Tim Garraway at Anse la Roche in Carriacou or Romeo on the Tobago Cays offer amazing lobster lunch on the beach – Tyrrel Bay in Carriacou and Union Island also have a fair share of nice restaurants.
